In the Czech Republic, southward from Prague in a region with large forests there is situated the peaceful village Kondrac. The district is called Podblanicko, according to the hill Blaník, that is 638 m high. In this territory is also the smallest protected landscape area in the Czech Republic. About 5 km from Kondrac there is the town Vlašim. The area under the Blaník with beautiful nature and characteristic architecture of farmsteads and folk building is ideal for tourism as well as bike-tourism.
In the village there is a possibility of accomodation in the guesthouse „U Blanických rytířů„ with bicycle-hire service and boarding in the restaurant „U Matoušků„. The visitors have sportgrounds for volleyball, tennis, football and minigolf at their disposal. In summer there is possibility of bathing in the local pond or in the public bathing-pool in Vlašim.
The history of the village Kondrac started in the 12th century, when the St. Bartholomew*s church was build. It is one of the most beautiful romanesque churches in the Czech Republik. It passed several architectural repairs during the centuries. On the walls there are the rests of murals.
